EFC Calculation – That is your starting point to the college funding process. Your EFC is not the amount of money your family will have to pay for college, nor is it the amount of federal student aid you will receive. It is a number used by your school to calculate how much financial aid you are eligible to receive. Knowing your EFC is the 1st step towards closing the gap in your student’s college funding.
College List (6-10) – Building your college list gives you a starting point. Most students and parents pick what they know. But in most cases what they don’t know is there are several schools out there that may be a better “Fit” for your student then what they “know”. We will look at the possible matches based off the students likes and dislikes.
Merit Scholarship – After the schools are pick now we find what Merit based scholarships your student may qualify for at all the schools on their list. With this information along with knowing your EFC number go a long way to helping the family and the student make the right decision on narrowing the college list.
Free Scholarships – Yes that’s right there are Free Scholarships out there. We will give you the links to go out and search the hundreds of scholarships that offer millions of $$ for students. Sometimes it’s takes writing an essay or producing a video, these free websites will guide you to where the scholarships are and how to qualify for them. NEVER pay for scholarship searches or companies that “promise” to get your student free scholarship money, most if not all are not reputable.
Essay – College applications sometimes require a writing sample. Some provide you a topic to write about some want your student to come up with their own. Either way this is an important part of the application process and should be taken seriously. The edit services we provide will allow the student to make corrections that can be invaluable to writing a outstanding essay to assist in the acceptance of the student.
Resume – Think resumes are only for job seekers? Think again. High school student resumes give colleges a snapshot of your accomplishments, extracurriculars, hobbies, and work history. They can also be a useful tool for prepping for a college interview or to give to the teachers who are writing your letters of recommendation. This 1-page snapshot of your high school experience may set you apart from other applicants.
FAFSA – The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is a form that is prepared annually by current and prospective college students (undergraduate and graduate) to determine their eligibility for student financial aid.
CSS Profile – The PROFILE form is administered by the College Scholarship Service (CSS), the financial aid division of the College Board. The CSS PROFILE is required by many private colleges and universities to determine your eligibility for non-government financial aid, such as the institution’s own grants, loans and scholarships. There are about 200 colleges which require that the CSS Profile also be completed in addition to the FAFSA.
